Labor Day 2004-09-05

Contrary to most people, I did not spend my Labor Day weekend in the company of my fellow man (or, perhaps, fellow family men).

No, this weekend was all about heavy-duty wiring & soldering of the automotive kind.

Armed with my recently-purchased Automotive Electrical Handbook, $70 worth of crimping tools, solderless connectors, butt-splices, terminals, and things I still don't know the name of, I embarked upon the holy trinity of classic Mustang performance upgrades - namely fog lights, power windows, and power door locks.

Now, you may recall that getting the pieces installed for these upgrades had its own share of misfortune, but, surprisingly, the hooking-up-the-wires part turned out to be a walk in the park.

Well, the kind of walk where you're constantly worried about things catching on fire. Sweet.
